CHAPIN – Westwood Cross Country competed in the Mike Moore Lake Murray Invitational over the weekend.
Redhawk boys finished 26th of 32 teams. Freshman William Tyndall finished first for Westwood and 67th overall with a time of 17:08.72. David Nelson followed at 17:39.35, Jordan Alexander-Coleman at 17:46.39, Joe Eberlin at 18:27.86 and Jace Risher at 19:32.94.
Westwood girls finished 29th of 31 teams, but seventh grader Emma Ashley was once again a bright spot. Ashley finished 34th of 252 runners with a time of 19:56.97. Barrett Brazell followed at 24:42:03, Leayzia Shiver at 25:04.15 and Kennedy Washington at 25:11.80.
The Redhawks run at Chapin on Oct. 2.
