BLYTHEWOOD – Bengal Volleyball got off to a hot start in region action last Thursday when they hosted the Irmo Yellowjackets. Blythewood blasted Irmo to the tune of 25-7, 25-17 and 25-7 to take the 3-0 win.
Senior Colleen Finney led the Bengals with 15 kills, 12 aces and six digs, followed by Brooke Thomas with 14 kills. Skyler Anton tallied seven digs. Domonique Black added six aces and a block in the win. Macy Collins had 32 assists on the night in 53 attempts.
The Bengals hit the road for more region action against Sumter on Tuesday and returned with another 3-0 win. Blythewood dominated the Fighting Gamecocks 25-6, 25-12 and 25-17 to move to 2-0 in region play.
Blythewood will host Lugoff-Elgin for more conference play on Thursday.
