CAMDEN – Westwood Cross Country had a strong showing in last Saturday’s Battle of Camden Invitational. The boys snagged a fourth-place finish out of 14 teams while the girls team finished eighth of the ten teams.
Seventh grader Emma Ashley topped the 71 female runners in her first meet of the season with a time of 22:16.67. Senior Francesca Lignini had the second-highest time for the Redhawks at 26:27.58.
Jordan Alexander-Coleman finished seventh, first for the Redhawk boys, with a time of 18:36.75. He was followed closely by freshman William Tyndall in 12th place with a time of 19:02.94. Freshman Joe Emerlin finished 23 at 20:06.17, sophomore Caden Henderson with a time of 22:18.70, Alex Teague at 22.41.32 and Robert Johnson at 22:59.00.
The Redhawks are back in action at Irmo on Sept. 7.
