WINNSBORO – In honor of the upcoming Veterans’ Day on November 11, the Fairfield County Genealogy Society and the Fairfield County Museum plan to place flags on the graves of veterans at Fairfield County cemeteries.
“To do this, we will need many volunteers,” Pelham Lyles, Director of the Museum, said. “We’re looking for merchants, organizations, churches, clubs – any groups who could provide volunteers.”
Each participating group will be provided with the names of veterans in the cemetery it adopts, as well as with flags to place on the grave of each veterans. Groups that would like to “adopt” a cemetery, please contact Suzanne Johnson at (803) 718-7877 or [email protected].
