SENECA – The 3A Upper State Qualifying meet was held May 4 at Seneca High School. The top eight competitors in each event qualify for the State Meet at Spring Valley High School this weekend, May 10 and 11.
Krishayla Boyd placed second in the 100m dash at 12:36, second in the 200m at 25.83 and third in the 400m with 59.73, all season bests for Boyd.
Trenell Boyd placed sixth in the 100m hurdles with a season best of 17.06.
The 4×100 relay team of Krishayla Boyd, Karis Davis, ZyKirah Davis and Tamerra English finished second with a season best time of 49.80.
The Griffins’ 4×800 relay team of Malik Beaver, Malik Coleman, Jarrod Neal and Sammie Robinson was a highlight, as they finished second with a season best time of 8:34.40.
Beaver finished seventh in the 800m and Ryusei Takahashi placed seventh in the 1600m run. Ray Davis finished eighth in shot put with a season best of 42-3.
