INDIAN LAND – Last Wednesday’s rematch of Fairfield Central-Indian Land turned quickly into a pitchers dual. Despite out-hitting Indian Land 5-4, the Griffins couldn’t get across the plate, and the Warriors were able to edge Fairfield 3-0.
Jacob McManus took the loss from the mound for Fairfield in his six-inning stretch. He faced 27 batters, striking out eleven, walking four, and allowing only four hits and three earned runs.
Chazi Jones led the Griffins from the plate with two singles in four appearances. Montavious Thompson, McManus, and Jalen Jackson also singled.
Fairfield was set to square off in a rematches with Richard Winn on Friday and Great Falls on Tuesday, but both games were postponed because of weather conditions. The Griffins will host Batesburg-Leesville on Thursday for a non-conference double-header and then will face Ridge View on Friday.
