ROCK HILL – The Westwood Redhawks sent eight competitors to the Region 3-4A Duals at South Pointe over the weekend, and seven placed. The Redhawks took fifth place overall, and Jordan Hightower pulled down his 100th career victory. Hightower snagged the top spot at 145 pounds.
Drake Lesher pulled out a second-place finish at 195. Elijah Villa, Gabriel Smith, Rilan Harkness and Tyvion Shannon all locked down third-place in their respective weight classes. Marcus Nedd secured a fourth-place finish at 170 pounds.
The Bengals had their own regional action lined up this weekend. As a team, Blythewood went 3-1 on the day and finished second overall. The Bengals also punched their ticket to 5-A dual state championships by knocking off Irmo, 39-35, Sumter, 48-35 and Spring Valley 54-28.
