FAIRFIELD COUNTY – With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, the merchants in downtown Winnsboro are stocked up and ready for shoppers. They will be kicking off red-heart shopping with First Friday store specials, refreshments and other treats from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m., Friday, Feb. 1.
“First Friday is a way to get our community to see what our stores have to offer, to get them out into the downtown area,” Fairfield County Chamber of Commerce president Gene Stephens said. “It will be a lot of fun for shoppers and a great time to support our downtown merchants.”
Store specials include: The Donut Guy – $5 for a small order of red velvet donuts; Cornwallis Tea House – a choice of two Thai dinners, one sweet and one spicy plus a wine special to compliment the dinner as well as orange Thai tea. Proprietor Christina Fair said the regular menu will also be available; Oldies and Goodies will feature the band Fresh Picked as well as Joe Trapp’s grits, chocolate covered pecans and champagne punch; Sunshine & Serenity will offer Mary Kay pampering, wine and chocolate covered strawberries and all Valentine merchandise will be 25% off; and the Artists’ Coop will feature entertainment by John McFadden, wine and snacks. Pedal Pushers Uptown will offer Valentine’s Day merchandise specials as well as 15 percent off all Valentine floral arrangements.
The Fairfield County Arts Council will also be celebrating First Friday in Ridgeway with animal art, refreshments and music at 115 Palmer Street from 5:30-8:30 p.m. The Olde Town Hall Restaurant will be open late with the usual Friday night specials. Sarah-N-Geo’s will be open till 9 p.m., offering pizza specials.
