WINNSBORO – Downtown merchants will be celebrating Three Weeks of Christmas with themed nights of shopping from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. each of the three evenings.
First Friday, Dec. 7, shoppers can step back in time to the sights and sounds of a classic 1940’s White Christmas as they stroll downtown streets to big band sounds and duck into the shops and restaurants to enjoy delicious offerings from donuts to dinner.
To commemorate Pearl Harbor day, a portion of profits will be donated by participating merchants to the Pearl Harbor Wreath Laying Ceremony by Lake Wateree VFW Post 8346. Some shops will offer discounts to active and retired military veterans.
The Second Friday, Dec. 14, will host Old Saint Nick, himself, as carolers entertain and shoppers indulge in hot chocolate, steaming cider and other holiday treats.
The Third Friday, Dec. 21, will be dedicated to Christmas memories featuring a downtown luminary service. Shoppers can purchase luminary bags for $1 (available 12/7/18) to honor a loved one during a special lighting ceremony at the Town Clock.
