ANDERSON – The Richard Winn Lady Eagles delivered a 51-3 beat down to the Anderson Christian Lions when the teams battled last week, and on Tuesday RWA topped themselves in the rematch. The Eagles were up 45-3 by halftime and when the final buzzer sounded, they owned a 65-6 victory.
Hannah Gibbons scored all six of her points in the first quarter and propelled Richard Winn to a 16-3 lead after the first. Kaleigh Tollison nailed a three in the first for the Lions. They did not score until the third quarter in the first meeting.
Taylor Spires had 10 points in the second quarter, and five Richard Winn players found the bottom of the basket in second. Spires led all scorers with 23 points. A total of nine Eagles scored on the night.
Anderson Christian did not find another score until in a Reagan Stone sank a three-pointer in the fourth quarter, but the deficit was too much for the Lions. Spires had six points alone in the final period.
