WINNSBORO – The Fairfield Central Griffins wrestling team hosted their first middle school tournament over the weekend and welcomed Stover, Camden, North Central, Chester, Mid-Carolina and Lugoff. Camden took home first place, Stover claimed second and Mid-Carolina sealed up the third spot, but Fairfield eighth grader Chandler Mount went undefeated through the heavyweight division.
“The tournament was an overall success. It was the first ever Fairfield Duals tournament, and it was ran very smoothly,” Camden Head Coach Justin McClester said. “The hospitality received from all the staff was very much appreciated and they can expect to see us participate in future events to come.”
