BLYTHEWOOD – The town’s upcoming holiday events include the annual Christmas tree lighting at Town Hall and the Christmas parade.
The tree lighting is set for Sunday, Nov. 25, at 5 p.m. at Town Hall.
“We hope everyone in the community will take an hour to come over to Town Hall for this wonderful event that sort of kicks off the holidays in Blythewood every year,” Mayor J. Michael Ross said. “We’ll have music, beautiful holiday music, and it’s just a great gathering.”
Music will be provided by Vance and Ginny Sharpe, the Trinity United Methodist Children’s Choir, Macedonia Baptist Choir and Don Russo’s Freeway Music students.
Refreshments will be provided by Blythewood Optimists Club, Blythewood Rotary Club and the Blythewood Chamber of Commerce.
Rev. Erik Estep, Pastor of the VillageChurch will give the invocation and Rev. Dr. Donald Hillyard of Stone House Ministries at Trinity UMC will turn on the tree lights.
“We want to thank the Blythewood Beautification Committee, Butch Richardson, Fairfield Electric and the Town of Blythewood Committee for putting this all together,” Ross said.
The Blythewood Christmas Parade will be held Dec. 9, at 3 p.m. Sponsors and organizations wishing to participate, can obtained the appropriate entry and other forms online at [email protected] or on the Town of Blythewood home page.
“We hope you will consider becoming a sponsor or participant, but if not come on out and enjoy the celebration,” Ross said.
