WINNSBORO – The big show – Rock Around the Clock – will be happening in downtown Winnsboro this Friday night and all day Saturday with lots of new entertainment, music, food and dancing, dancing, dancing.
At 8 p.m., dancing will begin to the music of Split Shot and the evening will end with the traditional shag dance contest.
Mayor Gaddy will open Saturday’s festivities at 10 a.m. to welcome festival goers. The Fairfield Farmers & Artisans Market and a petting zoo behind the Town Clock will be open 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
On the main stage at 10:05 Fairfield School District students and Midlands STEM students show off their best dance and choral performances. Sylvia Harrison’s Palmetto Groovers and the Compound Gospel Rap will be followed by a dance marathon with DJ Papa Charlie.
And if you’re looking for something that is just too cute, catch the Majestic Academy’s 3 and 4 year olds performing their Rock Around the Clock routine on the main stage Saturday at 12 p.m.
Also new this year will be a food truck court with a variety of eats.
For the kids there’ll be new children’s amusements including Big Al’s Amusements and Luna Trix Arts (bring your cameras) all day Saturday.
Look for the High Speed Ball game to test your throwing speed and the Sheriff’s exhibit that features a DUI/speed simulator.
And, of course, Sam Edenfield will present the annual all-day-Saturday classic car and truck show with DJ Doug Pauley. There’ll be trophies all around.
