COLUMBIA – The Blythewood boys finished in second place just behind Spring Valley at last weekend’s Region Championship meet, and the Bengal girls had a solid fourth place outing.
Blythewood senior Alan Deogracias finished first place overall, and was among six Bengal runners in the top 20. Daniel Turnipseed’s time was good enough for the fourth place, and a couple of spots behind him was Zachary Smith at sixth. Christian Pearson claimed the eighth place spot, sophomore Andrew Sullivan was 12th and freshman William Lenker came in at 20th.
Madison Wakefield led the Bengals on the girls’ side with her 19th overall finish. Her teammates Madison Mullins, 21st, and Madison Auton, 22nd, were the next highest finishers for the Bengals.
The Bengals will compete in the state qualifiers on Oct.29.
