BLYTHEWOOD – The Blythewood Youth Baseball and Softball League made a splash over the weekend in their respective tournaments.
The girls’ 10U softball team finished the ASA SC Youth State Softball Tournament in Aiken with the first place trophy. They will play in the district tournament in Jefferson, SC this weekend.
The T-Ballers kicked off the District Four tournament in impressive fashion with a 21-1 win, but lost 26-25 in their second round matchup against Pineview National.
They rebounded and cruised 28-14 in the third round against Gaston, and made a furious comeback and clinched a 31-30 win against Pineview American in the semi-finals. They then fell short in the championship game against Pineview National, but their runner-up performance qualified them for a spot in the State tournament that begins June 30.
The 8U and 12U softball teams followed suit with impressive runs in the State tournament. They both clocked in as the runner-ups in the Aiken tournament.
