BLYTHEWOOD – Former Cardinal Newman head wrestling coach, Brian Bush, has been tapped to replace previous Redhawks head coach, David Strait. Strait, who led the Redhawks to a second place region finish and a playoff berth this season, stepped down earlier this month.
Bush comes to Westwood with a strong championship pedigree. Before his coaching career, Bush won a state title as a student-athlete at Cardinal Newman, was named Most Outstanding Wrestler in the State Championship and earned All-State honors.
During his coaching tenure, Bush led Cardinal Newman to the 2018 SCISA title, the program’s fifth straight.
