WINNSBORO – Mr. Kenneth Segars, 90, of Winnsboro passed away on Tuesday, March 6, 2018. Born in Carnesville, Ga, he was the son of the late Dudley Ross and Rilla Addison Segars.
Kenneth retired after 17 years of service in the United States Army. He then retired from Fairfield County Transit System and Richard Winn Academy as a bus driver. He was a member of Gordon Memorial United Methodist Church where he sang in the choir, was a Sunday school teacher, and leader of the youth.
He is survived by his son, Kenneth Roger Segars; three daughters, Rhonda S. Lovett, Ellen S Castles, and Allyson R. Hall; one sister, Reba Lewallen; eleven grandchildren, and eighteen great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, Phyllis Merritt Segars, Kenneth is predeceased by six sisters, and five brothers.
Funeral services with military honors will be held at 3:00pm Saturday, March 10, 2018 at Gordon Memorial United Methodist Church conducted by Reverend Athon Arant. Burial will follow in Royal Pines Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour before the service in the church fellowship hall.
