B It’s hard to believe that I recently turned 35 years old this past week. As a matter of fact, everyone who knows me believes this is simply impossible! Well, the fact of the matter I did turn 35 years old just a few days ago. On February 27, 1983 I was baptized into Christ, which means I am in indeed 35 years old, spiritually speaking!
For more than thirty-one of those years I had the distinct honor and privilege of preaching the gospel of Christ on a full-time basis for congregations in Kentucky, Kansas, and South Carolina. In addition, I have been preaching part time for the past eight months. Beyond even the joy of preaching, I have also had the distinct pleasure of doing short term mission work in Scotland, Hungary, Bulgaria, Nicaragua, Panama, and Honduras. In my daily local work and on those special mission trips I have met and shared awesome fellowship with literally thousands of the greatest people on the planet, that being my fellow brothers and sisters in Christ.
Even now, I work every day with fellow Christians as we seek to minister to the lives of children who are in great need as well as to single mothers and their children who are seeking a better life. We do this all to the glory of God.
But even more than just the blessing of my work in the Lord throughout the years, God has blessed me immeasurably in so many ways. He has brought into my life the blessed gifts of a loving and devoted wife, two precious children, a wonderful daughter-in-law, and two beautiful grandchildren. He has also blessed me with physical blessings I do not deserve, and He has carried me through every difficult moment in my life.
If you are not yet a child of God, I hope the explanation of my 35 years in Christ will motivate you to begin a relationship with Him. There is no greater joy in life than to be a child of God!
