ATLANTA – Former member of the Blythewood Bengal family and NFL cornerback Justin Bethel agreed this past week to a one-year deal to play for the Atlanta Falcons. After Bethel’s standout career at Presbyterian College, he was selected as the 177th overall pick in the 2012 draft by the Washington Redskins, but has played all six previous seasons with the Arizona Cardinals.
Bethel racked up four interceptions during his career in Arizona and returned three for touch downs. His four career non-offensive touchdowns are tied for 24th in the league since the 2012 season.
He has also paved an impressive path for himself as a special-teams standout. He earned Pro-Bowl selections from 2013-2015 and was twice selected as a first-team All-Pro for his special teams work.
Bethel has never missed any action in his 96-game career and has made 14 starts.
