Westwood JV boys celebrate their Sumter Tournament wins on Saturday.
SUMTER – The Westwood varsity basketball programs are streaking on the court and have their eyes on set on deep playoff runs, but the junior varsity boys have also enjoyed their fair share of success this season. Jonathan Durant’s team is undefeated thus far this season, and this weekend they took the top spot at the Sumter JV tournament.
Westwood cruised past Crestwood for a 46-21 first round blowout. Lower Richland gave the Redhawks a much better game in the second round, but Westwood still pulled a 37-31 victory. Then in the finale, they blew out Lower Richland 42-24.
The JV Redhawks are 19-0 and have four games remaining this season.
