COLUMBIA – The Westwood Redhawks went toe-to-toe with the Ridge View Blazers on Friday. Westwood needed a win to claim their first Region 3-4A title and to earn a number-one seed in the State playoffs. The game remained tight down the stretch, but the Blazers snatched the number-one seed with a 60-50 win.
Westwood still claimed a share of the Region title, their first in program history, and ended the regular season with an 18-6 record.
Russell Jones Jr. had 13 points for the Redhawks, and Tayjay Dunlap had a solid 12-point performance, but the Redhawk defense had no answer for the combination of Wayln Napper, Crosby Harris-James and Javon Anderson. Napper rang-up 16 points while Harris-James and Anderson each contributed 12 points.
