BLYTHEWOOD – The number one-seeded Blythewood Bengals have rolled into the playoffs, and a major part of that charge came from the dynamic duo of Robert Braswell and Tre Jackson. This week, both earned South Carolina Basketball Coaches Association All-State Team recognition.
Braswell has averaged 15 points, eight rebounds and 1.5 blocks per contest. Jackson has been a wizard, and has average a stellar 19.1 points and 3.7 assists a game. He also been a nightmare for ball-handlers with his 3.2 steals per game.
The Westwood Redhawks have also had a tremendous amount of success this season, both the men and ladies. Both teams recently clinched a share of the Region 3-4A crown, both for the first time.
Russell Jones Jr. captained things for the boys; Unique Drake was the battery for the Lady Redhawks, and now both have been bestowed 4A All-State Team honors. Jones ripped off 16.5 points a game, 3.7 assists and 2.8 steals.
Drake has been lighting things up on all fronts. She has clocked 22 points a game, 4.7 assists, 4.2 rebounds, 2.9 steals and .9 blocks. This is Drake’s second year in a row earning All-State representation.
