BLYTHEWOOD – Residents of the Blythewood community are invited to help make an African American community quilt that will be part of the Town’s black history celebration on Feb. 17, from 2-4 p.m. at Doko Manor.
To participate, bring a piece of cloth, 5” x 5” or larger, that is special to you or your family (your grandfather’s old work shirt, part of an old apron belonging to your grandmother, etc.) to the Langford-Nord house before Feb. 15. Sign your name on the quilt square and a brief history of the fabric piece will be documented.
An Open House will be held at the Blythewood Historical Society later for the community to see the quilt when it is finished.
