BLYTHEWOOD – The Westwood boys’ basketball squad improved to 12-5 Tuesday night with a tight 41-37 win over the South Pointe Stallions. The Redhawks also improved to 4-0 in Region 4-3A play.
Russell Jones carried the offensive load for Westwood and ended with a game high 18 points. Kendall Wormack was next in line for the Redhawks with eight points. Andarius Boulware led the Stallions with 16.
Jones also led the team in scoring in last Friday’s win over the Lancaster Bruins. His 16 points powered the Redhawks to a 49-34 win in Lancaster.
The two wins came as the cherry on top of a very good week for Redhawks’ head coach Jeff Dibattisto. He became just the second coach in program history to be named as an assistant in the North/South All-Star Game. The All-Star game will be played on Mar.17.
