FORT MILL – The Fairfield Lady Griffins improved to 3-0 in region play on Friday after a 54-43 victory over the Chester Cyclones, and Tuesday night they looked to move to 4-0 against Indian Land. The Warriors were doomed from the very beginning, and the Griffins did as they pleased en route to a decisive 52-16 win.
Fairfield nearly matched the Warriors’ final score in the just the first quarter. The Griffins put 11 up in the first period, and by halftime they had 23 points. Cristin Gray stifled the Warriors on the inside with seven blocks. She also contributed 10 points and five rebounds.
Tameshia Woodard, who was injured during last week’s game against Rock Hill, bounced back with eight points, five rebounds and five assists. Tahalia Collier’s 12 points led the Griffins’ scoring charge.
