Weddings: Coleman – Hicks

Hope Tyler Coleman and David Jesse Hicks were married at 3:30 in the afternoon of November 18, 2017, at Hightower Hall, Historic Brattonsville, South Carolina. Officiating were the Reverend Joan Jennings Hope, namesake of the bride, and her husband, the Honorable William Robert Bell. Music for the ceremony was a string trio provided by Edgewire Music.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. George Franklin Coleman III and Ms. Patricia Estes Coleman. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. George Franklin Coleman, Jr., and the late Honorable George Franklin Coleman, Jr., of Winnsboro, South Carolina, and the late Mr. and Mrs. James Tyler Estes of Charlotte, North Carolina. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Christopher David Hicks. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. David Hicks, Mr. Art Mason, and Ms. Sue Burton, all of New Glasgow, Nova Scotia.

Mrs. Jennifer Blanchard McCoy, cousin of the bride, served as Matron of Honor. Maid of Honor was Miss Brittany Ann Jones. Mr. Christopher Paul Milks served as the groom’s best man. Siblings, cousins, and school friends of the bride and groom were also in attendance.

Following the ceremony, the guests enjoyed an evening of dining and dancing to the music of Threshold.

The bride, from Winnsboro, South Carolina, is a graduate of Richard Winn Academy, Converse College, and the Charleston School of Law. She is a prosecutor with the Spartanburg County Solicitor’s Office. The groom, originally from New Glasgow, Nova Scotia, Canada, is a graduate of Riverside High School in Greer, South Carolina, and St. Vincent College in Latrobe, Pennsylvania. He is employed by Heritage Southern Logistics in Greer, South Carolina.

Following their honeymoon trip to Banff, Alberta, Canada, the couple will reside in Greenville, South Carolina.
