LEXINGTON – After a week-opening home loss against Irmo, the Lady Bengals hit the road and sought to end their week on a good note against the River Bluff Gators. The regional opponents battled to a first-half tie, but the second half was all Bengals, and Blythewood notched the 42-24 win.
At the end of the first half, the Gators and Bengals were all locked up at 19-19, but Blythewood opened the second half with a 13-5 third quarter. Blythewood’s defense dominated in the fourth, and River Bluff did not put up a single point.
Blythewood’s Alexis Mims led all scorers with 12 points and teammate Lakyra Weeks followed closely with 10. Daley Walker’s seven points topped the River Bluff offense.
