BLYTHEWOOD – Hopes are running high for the Redhawk girls’ and boys’ basketball programs. The girls were named the number three 4A team in the state, and the boys were ranked 10 at the South Carolina Basketball Coaches Association Luncheon.
The Westwood boys finished 12-6 last season and made it to the second round of the playoffs before being bumped by Aiken. The ladies 19-6, with a 7-3 regional record, also made it to the second round in the playoffs.
Point guard Unique Drake, one of the ladies leading the charge for the Redhawks, earned a spot in the preseason Elite Top Five.
