WINNSBORO – The welding program at Midland’s Technical College- Fairfield Campus made modifications to an armored vehicle acquired by Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office through a federal military surplus program. Chuck Chelluk, welding instructor, and his students designed and built components to upgrade the seating capabilities of this vehicle.
This armored vehicle is for limited use and is designed to provide protection for deputies when evacuating victims from a hostile environment and can also be used in extreme weather conditions to assist our residents with rescues and evacuations.
