WINNSBORO – Last week the members of the Fairfield High School Alumni Association celebrated the laying of a cornerstone for their beloved school.
After more than 200 attendees gathered in front of the school to sing ‘Blessed Assurance,’ they were welcomed by Alumni Association vice-president Robert W. Davis. Their president Don Prioleau then guided the ceremony of hymns and messages to the final laying of the cornerstone.
The formal ceremony was conducted by the Sixth Masonic District Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge of South Carolina, led by District Deputy Sidney Alexander, Grand Lecturer for Special Ceremonies James Davis and MW Grand Master Lewis Nelson.
Following the ceremony, guests were treated to refreshments in the school.
