The event honoring and benefiting Rev. David Brown and his wife Shryll was wonderful! Pastor Barbara McClinton moderated the benefit service. An outpouring of love, appreciation and gratitude was expressed on Saturday, Sept. 16, 2017 at Gethsemane Baptist Church for Rev. David and Shryll. Many people spoke of their friendships and relationships with the Browns. Current and former Fairfield County Council persons were present and the Honorable County Councilman Mikel Trapp presented Rev. Brown a proclamation from Fairfield County Council recognizing the service and commitment of Shryll Brown who served for many years as Clerk to Council. Senator Mike Fanning presented South Carolina Legislature Senate proclamations to both the Browns recognizing their service to the people of South Carolina.
Rev. Hannie Milling, Jr., Shryll’s brother, delivered words of encouragement. Many monetary gifts were presented and the service ended with intercessory prayer for the entire Brown and Milling family. As the family went boldly before the throne of grace, their mantra was “Let go and let God.”
The Tuff Riders Truck Club ended the benefit with the sale of fish dinners. All proceeds benefited the family.
