COLUMBIA – Ashley Ghere, ad designer for The Voice, brought home the Best in Show award last week for the sixth year in a row. The award was for an ad she created for Laura’s Tea Room in Ridgeway.
“A great ad,” the judges wrote. “Makes you want to join these women for tea. Loads of fun and out of the ordinary.”
Ghere received the state-wide honors for her year’s work in the weekly under 8,500 circulation division with 15 PALMY Awards from the S.C. Press Association.
She earned five first-place awards for ads for Reese’s Plants (Home & Garden category), Shannon Burnett Law Offices (Professional Services), The Voice’s ‘Thinking Inside the Box’ newspaper promotion ad (Newspaper Promotion), Holiday Entertaining Guide (Special Section/Magazine) and Laura’s Tea Room (Restaurant).
Ghere earned six second-place awards for Sweet Pea’s Ice Cream Parlor (Specialty Food/Groceries), Arts on the Ridge (Events/Cultural Entertainment), Elite Smiles Dental (Health Services), Fall Sports Preview (Special Section/Magazine), Groomadog (Small Space Ads) and The Doko Manor (Half-Page ads or Greater).
She won third-place awards for Reese’s Plants (Home & Garden), Petal Pushers (Florist/Gift Shop), Wings & Wheels (Events/Cultural Entertainment) and Blythewood Dentistry (Health Services).
