Sherwin Davis, a sophomore at Fairfield Central High School, won the top prize at The BIG DM 101.3’s presentation of Columbia’s Got Talent on Aug.24 at the Comedy House on Decker Boulevard.
Competing against youth from across South Carolina, Davis’s winning song was ‘Eyes of a Sparrow on me’.
Davis’ prize for taking home the first-place title is the opportunity to open for the R&B group The Taylor Girls and Capital Records hip-hop sensation Silent ‘O, best known for his smash hit, ‘Watch Me,’ at the Township Auditorium in Columbia on Sept. 8.
Davis said he was nervous but happy to be competing.
“I just want to thank my Mama, Lawanda Turner, Darreyl Davis and Fairfield County for their support,” Davis told The Voice. “And I thank God for watching over me.”
Congratulations to this young man for sharing his talent. Wishing him the best!
