In a landslide victor on Tuesday,Douglas Pauley garnered 58.31 percent of the vote to take County Council District 5 in a special election to fill the seat vacated last fall by Marion Robinson who resigned for health reasons.
Pauley received 249 votes, James McGraw received 110 votes (25.76 percent) and Marvin Jeter, 69 votes (15.93 percent).
Pauley’s largest margin of votes came in the Greenbrier precinct where he received 60.45 percent and in Simpson where he received 71.05 percent.
“I just want to thank the citizens of District 5,” Pauley told The Voice following the win. “I really appreciate everyone’s support, and I’m ready to get to work for the citizens, not just in my district but for the whole County,” Pauley said.
“I’m looking forward to helping our county grow and improve. I’m going to do my best to make my constituents proud of me, and I’ll always remain focused on our future here in Fairfield County.”
