SPANISH FORK, UTAH – Zita Victoria Moak Lyles, 94, of Spanish Fork, Utah, passed away on Aug. 27, 2016. Born Feb. 11, 1922 in Blythewood, S.C., she was a daughter of the late George Washington Moak and Johnnie Louise Halstead Moak. Zita graduated from Blythewood High School and Elizabeth Buxton School of Nursing. She retired from the VA Hospital in 1985.
Preceding in death are her parents, husband James Hughlon Lyles of Winnsboro, S.C., brothers John Moak, Taussig Moak, George Moak and Richard Moak. She is survived by her sons, George Christian Lyles (Sandra) of Pelion, S.C., James Marion Lyles of North Bend, Ore.; daughters Deborah Anne Lyles Corbett (Peter) of Houston, Texas, Linda Katherine Lyles of Winnsboro, S.C., Susan Elizabeth Lyles Self (Richard) of Woodland Hills, Utah and Victoria Louise Lyles Woods of Swansea, S.C.; 18 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren; brother Robert Moak of Blythewood, S.C. and a sister, Anne Moak Jones of Longview, Texas.
Family visitation will be held on Sunday, Sept. 4, at Pope Funeral Home, 521 S. Congress St., Winnsboro, S.C. from 2 – 3 p.m. The funeral service will be held immediately after the visitation, then proceeding to Greenbrier Methodist Church cemetery for burial.
The family would like to express thanks to Spanish Fork Nursing in Spanish Fork, Utah for all of their love and care to their mother during these past few years.
