Daniel passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, June 6, 2016. Born in Columbia, South Carolina, he was a son of Stanford Johnson Keels Sr. and Eltis Lucille Brown Keels.
Daniel was a Chief Engineer in the Hotel Industry, retiring after 19 years. He enjoyed working with his hands crafting metal and wood and never hesitated to help anybody in need. He always like to be outside because indoors was too small to contain his free spirit, and he loved to learn new things
Surviving is his son, Leonard “Lee” Wigington-Keels of Blythewood; father, Stanford (Pauline) Johnson Keels Sr. of Columbia; mother, Eltis Lucille Brown Keels of Prosperity; brother, Stan (Delores) Keels Jr. of Elgin; sisters, Eltis (Mike) Slice of Prosperity and Grace Bass of Blythewood; lifelong friend, Marth Jo “Punkin” Atwater of Blythewood; numerous nieces and nephews and all of the people he helped along the way.
