Mikel Trapp claims personal credit for donations to churches and donated supplies for school students. The truth is that the taxpayers in Fairfield County paid these expenses.
There is no such thing as a ‘Saving Fairfield Tea Party Republication Candidate’ in Fairfield County! Ask Tangee Brice Jacobs and Col. Walter Stewart their affiliation with a party – neither are what Councilman Trapp claims.
From 2008 to 2014, Councilman Mikel Trapp has received $202,177 from Fairfield County taxpayers with an average of $28,882.43 each year. In his last term of four years – 2011 ($32,060); 2012 ($39,979); 2013 ($39,173); and 2014 ($31,815).
The lawsuit brought against Mr. Trapp was for the County of Fairfield paying for him to attend classes at a private college (Columbia College). The Attorney General of South Carolina ruled it illegal. The lawsuit was dropped/dismissed by the judge because he determined a taxpayer could not sue a Fairfield County Council member. I think he still owes that money to the taxpayers.
