COLUMBIA – Mr. Patrick Dustin Allen, 29, of Columbia, died Sunday, Nov. 2, 2014. Patrick was born in Kettering, Ohio on Oct. 9, 1985. He moved to South Carolina with his parents at the age of seven and resided there until his death. He had a life-long passion for sports, and lettered in football and wrestling for Ridgeview High School. In 2005, he married his high school sweetheart. He reached the rank of Sergeant with Richland County Emergency Services Department where he worked as a paramedic. He also worked with the Richland County Sherriff’s Department as a member of the Special Response Team and was recently deputized. His passion for helping others will be remembered by everyone who knew him. Most of all, Patrick loved being a husband and father. Close friends describe Patrick as being the essence of a warm hug.
Survivors include his loving wife, Michelle Jean Tempesco Allen; a son, William Walter Allen; a daughter, Genevieve Jean Allen, all of the home; his parents, Michael Anthony Allen and Deborah Louise Conway Allen, of Blythewood; sister, Laura Marie Allen Oliver (Stephen) of Columbia; grandmother, Genevieve Conway of Kettering, Ohio; nieces and nephews, Delainey, Jacqueline, Allison, Haley, Hannah, Ian and Seth; along with numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Patrick was preceded in death by his sister, Jean Elizabeth Allen; and brother, Jonathan Robert Allen.
The Rosary will be recited 5 o’clock, Thursday evening, Nov. 6, at Transfiguration Catholic Church, 306 North Pines Road, Blythewood, led by Fr. Andrew Trapp. The family will greet friends following the Rosary until 7 o’clock. The Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Allen will be celebrated 4 o’clock, Friday, Nov. 7, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 3512 Devine St., Columbia, with Final Commendation and Farewell Prayers to follow at the St. Joseph Catholic Church Columbarium. Fr. Matthew Gray will officiate.
