We moved to Fairfield County over 13 years ago. This was done by choice as we wanted to live in a small town (specifically the place where my wife, her parents and grandparents lived in). Fairfield County was not the same place it had been all those years ago. It seems to have changed and not necessarily in a good way.
We want to go on record as endorsing Billy Smith for the office of County Council. He is running for all the right reasons. With his progressive ideas there is a light at the end of the “proverbial” tunnel. Billy is running for county council as a public servant and not seeking a career position.
Yes, we do need change and that change starts with new ideas. Yes, we do need someone with both youth and knowledge in office. We need our young folks to have a future in our beautiful county. Billy’s thoughts and ideas are in line with making our county and community one which is desirable for us all, both youngsters and oldsters alike.
Status quo has failed. We need change…no more “good ole boy system”.
A greatly admired teacher in Fairfield County used to tell her students “When duty says thy must, youth replies, I can”. Ralph Waldo Emerson said in a poem “When duty whispers low, Thou must, The youth replies, I can” They were both right, so for a brighter future, vote for Billy Smith!
