On Nov. 4, Fairfield County citizens living in District 7 will have a unique and important opportunity. With the decision of Councilman David Brown to not seek re-election, for the first time since I have lived in Winnsboro, there will not be an incumbent running to represent District 7 on County Council. Mr. Brown has served admirably and has frequently been a voice of reason and compromise.
As mayor of Winnsboro, for the last three and a half years I have had the pleasure of serving with Clyde Sanders on Town Council. He has always been prepared for issues to be discussed and his questions have always been appreciated and non-confrontational. He appreciates the issues that our whole community faces, and has always been willing to listen to the concerns of our citizens. He also realizes that “wants” and “needs” of the community are limited by the taxpayer’s ability to pay the bill.
Based on my personal and professional relationship with Mr. Sanders, I fully endorse his candidacy and urge you to vote for him on Nov. 4 to fill the vacant District 7 County Council seat.
Roger A. Gaddy
Mayor of Winnsboro
