I take the opportunity to inform you that I will not seek re-election to the position of trustee for the Fairfield County School Board, District 5.
I have had the pleasure and responsibility of serving as a representative for four years. It has been a rewarding experience, because I have been able to contribute to ongoing improvements these past few years, and more importantly, I have established relationships with our students, parents, excellent staff, fellow board and superintendent.
It has been a difficult decision to announce my decision to not seek re-election, as it is entirely due to personal reasons, and not anything related to the excellent experience I have enjoyed as a school board member.
I am proud of my work on the board and believe I leave the Fairfield County School District Board of Trustees in a stronger and more effective condition than when I joined the board in 2010. We have achieved innovative and stronger collaborations with students, parents, teachers, principals and the community. And perhaps most importantly, student achievement has increased and academic programs are stronger. Much more remains to be accomplished with our current leadership, but for certain the path forward is now clear.
I would like to thank parents, students, board members and my friends who have express their support to me. I am grateful to each employee and staff member who have contribute to the success of the Fairfield County School district.
I wish all of you a successful future.
Thank you so much for the opportunity to serve and for your support; it has been an honor.
