LAKE WATEREE – Funeral services for Mrs. Norma Howle, 82, of Lake Wateree will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 16, 2014 at Lake Wateree Presbyterian Church conducted by the Rev. Dr. Fran Bragan. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, May 15, 2014 at Pope Funeral Home.
Born in Hartsville, S.C., Mrs. Howle was the daughter of Emory Olin and Carrie McElveen Player. She was a member of Lake Wateree Presbyterian Church where she was an elder for nine years. Mrs. Howle was also a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, Longtown Post.
Mrs. Howle worked at Allied Chemical, Chrylser Air Temp, Jenkins Brothers Valve, and the Hobart Company. Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Howle worked as Corporate Secretary for Howle and Howle Jewelers for the past 20 years.
Mrs. Howle is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Mr. William Robert Howle; two sons, Robert (Felicia) Howle of Columbia and Larry (Martha) Howle of Pittsboro, N.C.; one daughter. Brenda (Butch) Davidson of Blythewood; five grandchildren, Clay Thomas, Kathern Gleason, Holly Sanders, Parrish Croom and Carrie Howle; and three great-grandchildren, Kathy Grayson, Triston Gleason and Drew Sanders.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Howle is predeceased by three brothers, Harold, E.O., and Archie Player; and one grandson, Mark Shaver.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mrs. Howle’s memory to the American Cancer Society, 128 Stonemark Lane, Columbia, S.C. 29210.
