BLYTHEWOOD – It took five sets Tuesday night (Oct. 15), but the Lady Bulldogs of Camden finally put away the Lady Redhawks 3-2 (25-22, 25-22, 20-25, 23-25, 15-12) at Westwood.
“We took them to five sets, and we fought hard to win the third set after losing the first two,” Westwood head coach Amanda Kruysman said. “Camden struggled to pass our serves and our passing enabled us to put some big numbers up for our hitters.
“Jamila Minor had an excellent game in terms of kills and Jordan Jones had an awesome 36 assists,” Kruysman added. “It was a really exciting and well-played match by both teams.”
Minor had 16 kills for the Lady ‘Hawks, while Journee English added 11. In addition to her 36 assists, Jones notched 23 saves, ahead of Madison Oxendine’s 18 saves, Minor’s 18 and Kelsey Keesee’s 14.
