I am writing to express appreciation to the five Volunteer Fire Departments that responded to the fire destroying our house at Lake Wateree on July 21. When we got there, trucks from the Ridgeway, Mitford, Community, Dutchman Creek and Southeastern VFDs were already there and containing the fire. The Rescue Squad was there to give support and help to the firefighters. We couldn’t believe the number of people who responded.
We want each of these departments and their volunteers to know how much we appreciate their efforts in containing the fire. Everyone was so appropriate and compassionate in their dealings with us. We thank them for all their hard work.
