WINNSBORO: Funeral services for Cleo Kelley Patrick, age 89, were held at 2 p.m. on Monday, July 15, 2013, at White Oak ARP Church, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Clyde McCants. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family received friends on Monday, July 15, 2013, one hour prior to the service at the church.
Mrs. Patrick died on Saturday, July 13, 2013, at National Health Care in Columbia. She was the wife of the late David McDowell Patrick and the daughter of the late Fred Ezelle Kelley and Josephine Peake Kelley. Mrs. Patrick was a member of White Oak ARP Church, American Legion Auxiliary and the National Association of Postmasters. Mrs. Patrick was a fourth generation postmaster of the “Patrick Clan” in the White Oak community and served as postmaster for 34 years until her retirement in 1992. As postmaster, Mrs. Patrick was named South Carolina Postmaster of the Year and served many years as district director of the National League of Postmasters.
Mrs. Patrick is survived by her sister-in-law Eleanor Patrick Alison of White Oak, her aunt Lillian Aiken of Great Falls, and a host loving cousins, nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to White Oak ARP Church Cemetery Fund, 284 Patrick Rd., White Oak, S.C. 29180.
