Lucy Caroline Ladd and James David Sims, both of Winnsboro, S.C., were married June 1, 2013, at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Winnsboro. The 7 p.m. ceremony was performed by the Rev. Erik Estep. A reception at Winnsboro’s Old Armory followed.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William James Ladd Sr. of Winnsboro. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Eben Haslett Sr. of Winnsboro and the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Albert Ladd of Blair. She is a graduate of Presbyterian College and is currently employed as a teacher at Richard Winn Academy while pursuing her graduate degree at the University of South Carolina.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Vince Allen Sims of Wytheville, Va., and Mr. and Mrs. Donald Jeffrey Anderson of Winnsboro. He is the grandson of Mrs. Carroll Ligon, Mrs. Wylie Humphries and the late Mr. Humphries, Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Rufus Weed and the late Mr. James David Sims, all of Winnsboro. He is a graduate of Coastal Carolina University and Midlands Technical College and is employed by Johnson Controls.
Frances Lightcap, sister of the bride, served as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Elizabeth Coleman, Nicole Hunter, Meredyth Lyles, Ginny Mattox, Brittany McCorkle, Lacy Melvin, Jenni Sharpe and Brittni Smith. Lucy, Bella and Sophie Lightcap, nieces of the bride, and Madison Smith served as flower girls.
Vince Sims was his son’s best man. Groomsmen included Taylor Bell, Bryan Brooks, Martin Caulder, Kyle Dilschnider, Kyle Gantt, William Ladd, brother of the bride, David Nixon and Andrew Parsons. Simon Lightcap, nephew of the bride, acted as ring bearer.
Following their honeymoon in Jamaica, the couple will reside in Winnsboro.
