The Blythewood Lady Bengals soccer team (12-2, 6-1) was on the road Tuesday when they played at Spring Valley against the Lady Vikings (10-4, 6-1). Spring Valley edged out the Lady Bengals 1-0 to force a tie in the standings at the top of Region IV-4A. The loss broke an 11-game winning streak for Blythewood. With the win Spring Valley avenged a 3-1 loss to the Lady Bengals earlier in the season. Next up Blythewood will host the Lady Demons of Lugoff-Elgin (5-9-1, 2-5) tonight (April 12) with kickoff scheduled for 7 p.m.
The Blythewood boys’ soccer team (6-5, 5-2) was at home Tuesday and came up short to the Vikings (6-7, 3-3) of Spring Valley, falling 2-0. The Bengals have now lost their last two region games and will try to bounce back on Wednesday (April 17) when they host the Cavaliers of Richland Northeast (9-4, 5-2). The winner will take sole possession of second place in Region IV-4A behind Irmo (8-4, 5-1).
