WINNSBORO: Funeral services with full military honors for Loyd Hendrix, age 80, will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 13, 2012 at Gordon Memorial United Methodist Church conducted by the Rev. Walt Ballenger. Burial will follow at 1 p.m. at Fort Jackson National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday evening in the Gordon Memorial UMC sanctuary.
Mr. Hendrix died at Providence Hospital on Sept. 9, 2012. He was the husband of Rachel Miller Hendrix and the son of the late John Jacobs and Mary Wooley Hendrix. He was born on March 13, 1932 in Lexington, S.C. and proudly served our nation for 21 years in the U.S. Air Force. He later retired from Southern Bell and was a member of Gordon United Methodist Church.
In addition to his wife of 57 years, Rachel, Mr. Hendrix is survived by a daughter, Vickie Dooley and her husband James Douglas Jr. of Winnsboro; a grandson, Justin Loyd Dooley and a granddaughter, Tori Douglas.
