WINNSBORO: Funeral services for Alberta Smith Crossland, age 82, will be held at 4 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 10, 2012 at Stephen Greene Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Dr. Michael Cockrell and the Rev. Jerry Wolfe. Burial will follow in Stephen Greene Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Pope Funeral Home.
Mrs. Crossland died at Fairfield Memorial Hospital on Aug. 7, 2012. She was the wife of the late Marvin Crossland and the daughter of the late Albert E. and Mollie Mae Cooper Smith. She was born in Winnsboro on May 4, 1930 and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Mrs. Crossland is survived by two sons, Roger Haney and his wife Diane, Wayne Haney and his wife Debbie; eight grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband Marvin, Mrs. Crossland was predeceased by a brother, Charles Smith.
