The Winnsboro Lions Club presented an annual scholarship award of $750 to a deserving Fairfield County graduate at its meeting June 5 at the Fairfield Memorial Hospital. Katie McLemore (right, with Lion’s Club President Gene Clemens), a 2012 graduate of Fairfield Central High School, and daughter of Tammie and Tommy McLemore of Ridgeway, was the recipient. Katie will attend Midlands Technical College, Airport Campus, to study for her Associates degree. She plans to be a paralegal. The annual scholarship alternates between Fairfield Central High School and Richard Winn Academy.
